Specialised Childcare

Schools Out Club offer specialised childcare for children who have complex needs, are vulnerable and are hard to place in mainstream settings. The age range we work with are children aged 3- 16 years. We support the needs of the children and parents through referrals from social services and Early Years department of Derby City & Derbyshire County Council.

Our support service offers care for children in the week and weekend. We can offer support on a one to one basis, work from the child’s home environment or take them out for day trips. We also have access to our holiday club, breakfast & after school club services which can be integrated into the care plan.

We were involved in the inclusion project through Derby City Council and staff that support families and children are trained and have the experience to be able to support a multitude of different needs.

We liaise with other professionals to ensure that all involved have a 360 degree view of the child and family’s needs, this then supports them holistically. We attend group meetings with all professionals involved with working with the individual child, attending doctors & hospital appointments with the family or as a representative, speech therapists and visits to specialist centres with light rooms.

We have experience working with a variety of families and children with different needs who have been referred from social services for respite care or need extra support or improving certain areas of development. We have worked with children who have had medical conditions that affect their development, sensory, bodily functions, mobility and movement. We also have supported family structures to help build positive relationships and have safeguarded children and young adults that are vulnerable.
